Michelle Obama won’t speak against the Rev. Wright. She evades the question, says Barack speaks for her (how feminist of her, how liberated!). Give me a break. She chose that church and I don’t think for a minute she wants to leave it. And why does she need Caroline Kennedy sitting next to her?

You’re not 1/8 the human being that either of the Obamas are.

I don’t know what “I feel sorry for you” is upset about, since you just posted a clip of a show she did. OK, you commented you thought she was evasive. I agree with that. She looked really unhappy to be there. In a way I feel a little sorry for her b/c it is clear from her body language that she is not ready to be a “political” life and this is costing her her church, which is a high price to pay. But if you’re principled, you say “I am sticking with my church.” See, I think it’s bad he back-tracked from his original position. Maybe she is tired of this whole thing. I noticed Obama looks very tired. Hillary has about 4 times as many events as him and on fox last night she looked pretty good, but she is used to politicking. Hey, she did great against O’Reilly!

I am not sure parsing people into fractions of human beings is useful.
The tape reveals a woman in conflict. She is clearly sad to be “moving forward” and irritated by being pressed on it. In the end, if Obama loses the presidency, he will have lost a lot more too, and I think she sees that. If he wins the presidency, he will have to ask himself, was it worth it?

A “painful” position to be in… yeah, I’m betting it is, when the rest of the country finds out about the “church” they’ve been supporting for the past two decades. Somehow, it’s bound to feel something like the folks in Eldorado, Texas, when they found out their “church” policy on polygamy wasn’t embraced by normal people either.

Hi. I don’t see why she should leave, or want to leave her church. I’ve been going to church for about 40 years. I have listened to many pastors over this span of time, and I can tell you, many of them I rarely admired or agreed with. Even the ones I did like, said many things I found less than Christian. However, I wasn’t there for any of those men. I was their to strengthing my bond with my creator, to have fellowship with people of like faith, and to strengthing my marriage and family. If I went to church for the pastor, I would have been disenchanted long ago. Some where racist, some where adulturers, some were actually decent people. But one thing is for certain, they were all underlings – just men, and I couldn’t let them manipulate my walk with God. Do you understand?
